I have some old Mitchell wheels lying around. Do they count as "old school cal look" wheels? Sure look different from ERCOs. Tell everyone about that set of wheel's lineage. And the front tires...

The tires I got off Kris Klingaman's car when he put the short M&H's on. Funny story about getting them mounted, I drove my '55 over to Super Shop's on Chapman in Garden Grove, they would'nt mount them on the car because they were "non DOT approved" & the car was driving on the street. So I was a bit miffed, I put the tires back in the car ,pulled out onto Chapman Ave & bought the motor up & let it fly... And it did a big ol' wheelstand in 1st and 2nd. So I drove home & pulled the front wheels off & went back. The Holley 4 barrel selling Super Shop guys were totally blown away by what happened out on Chapman...

I never liked the meatheads at Super Shops. There was one a mile or two down the street from Buggy House. I went in there and bought my Flowmaster from them. Of course the elmo that sold it to me had to make a freaking comment about owning a Bug.

Why don't you use on every corner a different wheel?

I would go with the Torkers first choice and the BRM's second Choice to me the Crestlines are to much like the Empi 5 spoke's. The look of the Torker there is No other look a like for it

Americans or Americans... take your choice! After that, the Crestlines, Empis or BRMs in that order.

I disagree Shub. The single most important design element in a wheel is "depth". In a perfect world the Empi Five would have more lip... but then they wouldn't fit the VW anymore, as the ET goes out the window. Both the Empi five, the Crestline, and the Torker is doing their best to look like the American TORQUE THRUST design. It's quite easy to see who got the closest to archiving the look. To bad they fit the bug so poorly.

Try Cal Parts if your looking for "Depth" And before you say it I know thay don't fit on a bug

I'm not a big Empi 5 fan, but I have to say they work very well on your car Fabian. If I were you I would not go for the BRM's. They suit most cars and would be fine on yours too, but your car is one of few that is really different and stands out from the crowd, I think they would make it more mainstream.. The Torkers are cool but I'm with JHU on this one, think they should have more lip and not too keen on the "backward bent" spokes. I would definetely go for the Crestlines as they are genuine and would suit the look on your car very well. They would make it perfect in my eyes. But then I have always been partial to old fivespokes..
