Everything was loaded and ready on Tuesday, our trip started early on Wednesday morning. After about 20 minutes of driving we had to slow down due to some work on the road. Then we heard a strange sound from the right rear wheel.. Huh I could'nt believe it,we had 1100 km left to Bitburg and a ferry to catch.Turned out it was only the center nut on the drum that was a little loose, luckily we had brought the tools needed to do the job.Torqued the nut and new pin installed, everything was ok.. After a nice evening on the boat with good food and drinks,we wake up early to have a solid breakfast before we arrived in Kiel. After 5 minutes Torleif began to feel some pain in the stomach, after maybe 10 minutes he was in terrible terrible pain.We had to get hold of a doctor on the boat to give him some pain-stilling,it was still 2 hours before we arrived at port. There was no doubt,Torleif had got kidney stones.. Shocked
Had to find a hospital in Kiel as soon as we could,he had kidney stones some years ago and had to stay 2 days in hospital before they came out. After some driving around,we finally could park the trailer and get him in to the hospital. The service there was really good,Torleif was taken care of right away.More pain-stilling was given to him intravenously. After some waiting Torleif complained that he was dry as a desert in his mouth,he also began to loose his sight..Hmm,what the hell was happening? Huh It turned out that the valve on the intravenously bottle was waaay to open,Torleif was really drugged.. Cheesy Cheesy
We could not beleive our luck when he walked out 4 1/2 hours later,in some lucky way the stones must have passed trough at the hospital.Torleif was hungry but just fine, got a box with drugs in case of trouble and we where ready to hit the road again.. Smiley Smiley

From Kiel we had a nice drive down to Iserlohn and Udo becker.Thought I had a bearing problem on the front wheel on the way down, but it turned out to be only a patch of bad asphalt and a tired driver.. Cheesy After a few phone calls we finally arrived.

We can't thank Karin,Udo,his mother and family enought for the kindness and hospitality they gave us.He was so kind to invite us to stay at his place, and we could drive together the last 250 km on Friday. When we arrived late Thursday evening,we had planned to sleep in the car.But Udo had other plans,he had arranged and heated up his sisters new caravan for us-it was awesome. Before we found the bed,Udo took us to a restaurant and we had the best meal ever. Friday morning we had a great breakfast and a shower, before we did a trip to the supermarket and a visit to his workshop. We fell in love with their house and the beautiful green fields with horses surrounding it.

When we got back we had to say hallo to their lovely horses.I did'nt notice the steel vire around the fence, and of course managed to stick my hand trough it.Holy crap,I almost wet my pants Shocked I suspect that Udo had turned up the voltage just for me.. Cheesy When I stopped shaking I was ready to race, loaded up Udo's car and headed to Bitburg  Wink

WOW - a new, great travel report here on The Lounge!! Thanks mate! Glad to see that Torleif had a good experience with the German nurses.... and I love the fact that Udo turned up the voltage for the fence... that`s one hell of a way to get rid of his competitors on the strip  Wink At least it got you hair back up again  Grin

Don't have any pictures of the few runs I made, only some on video.Managed a 9.58 on the first run.The plan was to do a easy first run to check out the track. But the car hooked good and felt safe trough the gears so there was no need to step of the gas.
The second run was'nt so good.Drifted a little to the right after the start, and I was all over the place when I hit fourth.Just had to abort the run,it was slippery. On the third run the car launched good and straight.Suddenly lost a cylinder at the end of third and shut off at once.
After some wrenching and a leak down test it turned out that a exhaust valve had broken, that was the end of the racing for us. Embarrassed Appreciate the offer we got from Steve that he could help me vith a new valve.I just did'nt take the chance,in case other valves or piston was hurt.
I hoped the valves would make it trought two seasons, almost did though.. Wink Running with draw trough turbo is hard on the valves.
