Hi, Just wondering what combo you guys are running with gasburners to lower your front end (balljoint)? Please let me know. I have a set of original gas burners, that i dummied up on a balljoint beam with a set of empi dropped disc brake spindles, the bottome balljoint interfers with the wheel, Im no keen to get the grinder out. I am starting to think of may be fitting some avis adjusters and original spindles and not drop it very much to retain a decent ride? Please let me know your thoughts.

Hey Dood, I have Burners on a standard width B/J Beam with Sway away adjusters... No dropped spindles, just original B/J drum ones with Lawless Design custom disk brakes. I used to have Original Ghia disc brakes before ( drilled to Porsche 5 ) no problems as well.
How bout a 1/4" wheel spacer?

Thanks for the replies guys.
Trying to avoid using spacers at this stage. I will try and get hold of some of those ac industries dropped spindles.

K-ROC, Hows the ride with just the adjusters? Any long travel ball joints fitted?

I just got all front end back in. It's now adjustable 2" up and 2" down. Same spindles/disc and I have about 5mm of clearance with the car at full weight.

Maybe not Gasburners but Baby burners MAHLE does any one can show me how to make some clearance between the inner wheel rim and the lower ball joint (I run CB dropped spindles) I fitted the wheels and its lets say a hair thick gap... id any one made some modifications to run those beautiful wheels with dropped spindles?

Hi Tom, I drive a set of Pedrini's (they have the same ofset like the baby burners ET 40) and running CB dropped spindles and a lowered beam... I had some clearance issues also... The thing i did was finetune the beam until it wouldn't scrape any more... (i set the axle adjusters 3 teeth over the edge, almost 0 position) sorry can't find the right words to explain you.... Regards Dennis...

thanx,
So I just have to machine the trailing arm in lower ball joint seat to allow the ball joint go deeper about 3mm? What about that washer? Where it should go?

on a side note, hope you don't mind, i think i saw a (new) kind of avis adjusters that used just one plain allen screw instead of an allen thread with 2 nuts like i have. is any familiar with these adjusters? they were blue by the way. i'd like to run them as the lower adjuster is the lowest point on my beam and these new ones wouldn't stick out as much...

You ain't going to scrape the bolt, no matter what kind of adjuster you use. Franky's sells good and sturdy ones. It got less teeths than the cheaper ones, but it is very durable and easy to mount.

you can ask jesse about the obstacle i have on the driveway where my car is. the lock of the entrance gate sticks out of the ground 5cm. my brother and i can't drive over it, but have to go around it... so it would come in handy there. plus you must have noticed the lovely 120cm wide speed bumps we have in this country that go under the car... etc, please believe i've hit the road numerous times with that bolt. feel free to have a peek underneath next time we meet
