he had different ones. check out the cal-look issue with scot bakkens replica of the car. it should have a VDO gauge as well and stewart warner, and i even think a Smith tach (not really sure about the last one...)

Hmm...

oh well I'm not concerned if they were used in another car or not, I just thought they have a nice clean functional look and are a nice change from VDO cockpits and look so much better than the Autometer silver faced.
Interesting note.... the very early Lamoborghini Countach's used Stewart Warner gauges. I think later they changed to Veglia, like most Italian cars ran in the 70's.

I like the look of the Cobra gauge set.

hey there is nothing wrong with these gauges, just too bad they were used in one of the most famous callook cars ever (see other topic) Grin
but they sure do look good and are indeed a welcome change from the autometer gauges. as nice as they are, these can give the car a 'classic' sports look. all different from black VDO's as well.

and it was said (i believe by sarge) that in those days they looked for gauges that looked good and could be made to work... so i guess they had taste as well back then...  Grin

Totally agree with you. They are one of the most underrated gauges available today. And I don't think it's bad that they were used in the OG Cal-look - I think it's cool!

I really like SW gauges. Of the new ones I think the Cobra set looks best.
There are also lots of old SW gauges on ebay aso for that vintage feel. I have an old SW tach under the dash in my oval. Wouldn't trade it for ten Autometer Monsters.

I have always liked the deluxe SW gauges. Cool, simple look. The autometer z-series is also cool, but very much like vdo cockpit.

Lately I have been thinking about removing my tach from its dash top perch and buying a shift light with built in tach. I would probably strap it to the steering column.

One of the problems with those is they use ugly senders. I like VDO Series One`s with the two pole oil pressure sender. One pole for the stock idiot light and the other for the gauge. No big ugly T fittings and adapters.
