These have been some truly awesome pictures of Cal-Look history.  Thanks! Cool

The Martinez late model car (black with blue accented fuchs) really made a lasting impression on me.  I saw it for the first time at a Bug-IN, no doubt in a club collection.  A beautiful car. Wink

I couldn't post without contributing something.  I took these photos with my trusty Kodak Instamatic.   Roll Eyes

A couple more... Grin

I always liked Mike Smith's car and clicked off some close shots at the famous Carlsbad Raceway.  Also pictured is Mike Mabe's turbo'd Ghia (way ahead of its time back in the day) and the famous red street/strip car of Wayne Davis racing Doug Berg in his goofy rail.  Again, all were taken by me with my old Kodak.

I just loved seeing this picture!
That's the only picture I have ever seen of a period car wearing Rocket mags like mine. The pointed spokes give them away..
Speedwell, you got any more pics of this car?

Ok Here is A Question for you Guys How Many People know what  DER VOLKS BRUCKENAUFBAU (DVB) Means in German? it seems someone Did not do there homework when they named the Club Many Years Ago  When I was in DVB back in 1975 we were all out at a Club Function when this German Couple came over and were Looking at our Club Cars Ok Here Comes The Big Question  The German Couple Ask  What is (THE PEOPLES BRIDGE BULIDERS) we said What?? That is what (DVB) means in German, We all Laughed it Off but they kept the Name even though the name has nothing to do with VW's

I remember reading in KS's California Look VWs book that it was a mis-translation of "The Peoples Superstructures"! Wasn't Jack Blenkinship, original owner/driver of Blue Obssession in DVB? I'm sure I spotted the bonnet badge on the car at EBI!
