Keith is right that this car had the ARPM engine when it was with Frank in Belgium. My friend Peter Bennett bought the engine from him and then I bought it from Peter and now it is with Jukka.
Is this the one I rebuilt way back when?

Russell, how are you doing with the car?
I hope and assume you will be ready this spring?

So watching my mate Kev D get his 55 on the track, made me think about posting an update, it may not look like a lot has been done, but it has, a couple of items to finish with Jim and some paintwork on the rear wings and rear wing and engine back in and we should be ready to stretch its legs, hoping to have it out this year so next year i can have a proper crack with it.
sorry for delay in updating, but work sort got in the way....
enjoy Russell

We are thinking of using remote control
With Russell inside for the ride
Car is about 80-85% is done, I am putting engine together at moment, I have to wire all EFI etc and finish some plumbing once it is all in place, then back to Jim @ Cotsweld to set up chassis/corner weight and alignment etc and that's pretty much it
We did take a couple of steps back last year after some failures on my car showed us some weak points on this build, main one being this had VW size stub axles still using the original hubs from when it was 1st built, after I broke one of mine at Euro finals that are about 50% bigger O.D. & not 25 years old
we decided we couldn't risk the VW size so Jim had to make all new hubs using same size stub axle & bearing carrier I have, this then led to new brakes, shock position needed moving etc etc, always one thing leads to several others so consumed a lot of time.

Looks like it will have a better starting point with less failure though so probably well worth the effort.

Has it all got to be taken apart again so the frame can be painted?

Not for this year, we will just focus on getting it all to work and then if we are happy with everything it can come apart to paint frame etc, there is always a few things that need moving/changing or made to work better when you actually race it so better to do them before that

Surely it's CDO - got to get it in alphabetical order...
Always loved No Mercy, crawled all over it when Lee Darby had it back in 2000. Look forward to seeing it again this season!

Those hubs look a bit nice

Little update:
This week I got some time so I finished engine up, fitted all the header tubes/turbo/exhaust/wastegate and intake back into car, then engine in, had some minor issues with clutch clearance as car doesn't have motor plate so everything sits in different place in bellhousing, bit of head scratching while I figured it all out but sorted that now with some parts juggling
.
Next I finished up all the fuel/oil/brakes & clutch plumbing and have today bleed clutch and brakes, even got oil in the dry sump tank now and primed it through to pump, waiting on one fitting and fuel system will be finished
A few things are pretty close now so I put all bodywork & mounts/chute/wheelie bar back on to see if it all clears, 2 fittings are touching chute/wheelie bar top mount on top of case so I have to move them a little but everything else is good
Next is the ECU and wiring
I have started by mounting all the sensors etc , next is actual dash
cheers Richie
