Yeah, Mike... I don't know what it is, but you're right. Something about your picture just looks SO right.

Weird.

Many Thanks DKK Fred, very much appreciated  Wink

The mirror is from an early 70's porsche 911, Durant Mirror. Doesn't quite fit as the base is a tad too wide/long, we are on the lookout for something to replace this. Nice looking mirror though, we prefer it to the Talbot Style which it had previously.

Hi,

I'm currently collecting parts to build a 2110cc motor, what spec is yours? 180bhp sounds nice for my mild street motor

Hi Lee, to the best of my knowledge this is the run down on the motor:

ENGINE – originally built by Keith Seume (case is stamped with his name)
2110cc
82mm Berg forged crank
90.5mm Mahle barrels & pistons (total seal rings)
Engle FK8 cam with straight cut timing gears
Eagle race rods
VW type 1 dual relief case
Scat deep sump
040 cast cylinder heads ported & polished by Jeff Denham
valves 44 x 37.5
Compression 9.5 to 1
MSD 6AL ignition with launch control. MSD distributor and leads
Italian Weber 48 IDA's with JKM linkage on Skat Trak manifolds - JKM Linkage soon to be replaced by a Berg  Wink
Phoenix 1 3/4 inch merged header with A1 Turbo muffler
Mocal external oil cooler
Modified and chrome plated Berg oil breather / filler
CB Performance 1.4 Ratio rockers
Berg equaliser pulley
Berg welded fan
Hi-torque starter motor
System One oil filter

Hope that helps!

Try the 65-67 style, it's a bit smaller and fits a Beetle better, IMO.

thanks guys!

@steve: yes, would be cool to take the split, but plane is booked and i don´t trust the engine, the new one won´t be ready for scc Undecided . short after i took the pics, i got some oil problems, the workshop looked like a mess and under the car is a huge oil spill. have to find out where it all comes from. next year i will join your roadtrip.
see you there or when you collect your seats  Wink

@helge and felix: thank you both!
engine is a 1600, w110, 36idf, slightly ported heads and raised compression, nothing special, had the engine in my old oval before. i´m still collecting parts for a bigger one.
thanks for your offer, i´ll gladly come back to you, if the oil problem didn´t solve.
