Heres another shot that was taken on friday,

That's a great car you have.... one I've fondly admired from a distance for many years!
It really is a beautiful car, and one that has been very well looked after by it's past costodians.... Gaz's unfortunate loss is your gain.
Enjoy!

I took the ghia out for what I think was the last time this fall, since snow is coming in soon! I thought, what is a cornpanzer car without corn? So here ya go. The other shot is just a cool looking old brick building in here in town.

Nice KG Chuck!

Question for you... are those the Flat 4 Enkei style wheels? Is your car ball joint or linkpin?

I like the look of your wheels with the flat center caps. In fact, I made some for a friend of mine back in the 70's for his '65 GT Mustang with Torque Thrusts... I had no idea they would clear on a VW.

Sorry to heist the thread a little, I had to know  Wink

Thx, DR.

Good looking car, Fabio. What color is it? In the picture, it appears to be Java Green. Do you have any more views of the car?

VERY cool looking car, Fabio! Thanks for posting the other pictures of it. I've never seen an '80s made Mexican Beetle in that color. They did offer some great colors, though. I was at my local VW parts store, the other day, and a guy parked next to my '67 with his 2003 Mexico Beetle. VERY bright red factory paint. Sarge would've loved it.

Jimi, your car is very cool. I really like the seats, what brand are they? The dash is nice too. Porsche gauges?

What size tires do you have? The car looks pretty good now.

IIRC Pip also used to own Ivan McC's scalloped bug - is that correct? Didn't it end up going off a cliff or something?

Pip was and still is a friend of mine, and you're right, I bought that '64 Bug off him. But it was a running driving £400 project car at the time and was painted two-tone blue. From the look of the paint, Ray Charles must have done it - it was more like artex than paint.
If I could turn back time - I wouldn't start  with that car, that's for certain!

And yes, it was driven off a cliff - not by me - by a 'friend' one of the people who owned it after I did.

Hi Fred this is a photo of the car before trasformation and re-painting ... this is the 20 years old colour.. i don't know if the "painter" (is the right word??) has changed a little bit the colour...

Thanks, guys. I've been wanting to paint my headlight rings since I bought the car. Finally got offa my lazy arse and did it. I had my orange '66 done the same way. But this time, I'm thinking about painting the turn indicator housings, too. I already have a set. I just need to send 'em in for an acid bath like I did on the rings. That way, if I don't like the way they look, I can go back to the chrome/original ones. I'm gonna paint the reverse light housings Zenith Blue, too. But leave the bezels chrome.

Sorry, Fabian... but the body trim will never come off. I've already owned a dechromed VW. I've always wanted a '67 with the trim. Besides, I don't have the money to do that, anyway.
