Right on, Mike. I'll always have a soft spot for Java Green. Especially when mated to a set of non-polished alloys. Lookin' good.

Thanks, Mark.  The whole car could be considered "non-polished," really.   Lips Sealed

That grey bug is awsome, anyone know if its on its origonal plates? If it is then it was delivered new to the Isle of Wight (DL is our reg mark over here)

Doug

Sold by Fishbourne garage, Stu used to have some old paperwork on it which he sent to the old owner as I think it's changed hands recently.

A re-post of Chris W.'s '66, because that's one of my favorite year Bugs. Great looking car, by the way, again.

Thanks guys.  Chris, your car is looking awesome—I'd LOVE to find a nice original set of burners for "backup" some day.  The original finish works for me much better than the popular detailed look.

As for my car:  they're deep sixes in rear and 5-1/2" on the front.  205/65 and 145s.  Beam is 3" narrowed, but I am running ~1/4" spacers because it is too narrow in my opinion.

I love the simplicity of wide-5 steel wheels.  I'm glad I got my alloys when I did, but knowing what I do now I might have just gone the route of the chromie.   Wink

Yep—I have (1) 4.5, a set of 5.5's (I think), and (1) 6".  I think the 6" might be home made, though.  Can't remember.  Think I am using a 5.5" as my spare.  The 4.5 I have needs the lip straightened out in one spot.

Hate them in chrome.

They are going to be painted a little darker than the burners are now, which are getting done a little darker also. I still need 2 4.5's though.

Having a spare was the plan, but with 1 wheel and tire I am 25% to a full set so might as well  Grin

I'm buying a 56 and I have a line on a full set of 356B brakes, so the 356s wheels may go on the Oval.

I've always wanted Alloys!!!

Iv got chromed 5.5 356 wheels on my bus, love them, want some 4.5s for the front though if anyone knows of a good pair for sale? love porsche steels, tempted to put 912 wheels on the bus one day or on the bug instead of fuchs, would certainly look different and subtle.
