Are you making any big changes to the engine for this go around? I assume you will be running the roller cam 4" JPM engine again right? Corn fed or gasoline? Good luck, I look forward to watching your progress again!

Going over next month to work on car, I did some changes to oiling system & rockers to get more oil on valve train & heads to keep it all a bit cooler as dry sump scavenge was to efficient, and swapped out ex valve to stainless as the Ti ones were worrying me as we had durability issues with them in another engine, I also replaced all the slip joints on header with V bands as well as it was quite slow to build boost before so wanted it all sealed up tight
rest is the same still, while i am there hopefully dyno it on e85 and see what it makes, got an intercooler set up i made for it as well so if we have time test both ways, then after that decide if its enough, if not swap out to race fuel and intercooler for the racing part and e85 for drive.
With the fuel tech on car now I was able to get a decent tune on 91octane as well even with the 2100cc injectors on car now so it wont be a drama if we need fuel and e85 isn't available which was a real problem last time.
Only other thing I did was change 4th gear ratio as it was so tall i couldn't really use it except on freeway and I don't need to go 160mph + so dropped it a little to allow using it more
cheers Richie

How is the E85 availability on this years event? Having a E85 race map, and a gas map should be "easy enough" to make?
Did you run last year without an intercooler?

#Generally in that area looks pretty good but as they don't tell us route until after we made the passes at track each day its hard to know 100% if there are some on route
Yes no intercooler then

I liked the way Ray Vallero made his mod on extra cooling on the valve train.... by drilling a hole in the intake pushrod. (in this post
http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,16934.60.html
)
Did you do something like this Richie?
Wondering if this will work or give a loss in oil pressure.

Hi Eddie
no i did look into that but these pushrods are so thick[for the high spring pressure from roller cam] and so hard from heat treatment that we couldn't make a hole in them. As this pump has plenty of extra volume spare and excess is being bled off I should have enough in reserve to not see any difference
cheers Richie

A brake line tapped into the head “above” the springs should work fine?
Couple of holes per spring.
Saw a picture a time ago, will try to find it
