well the car is back in Holland(almost 2months Grin)

Brought it directly to my new shop

Since then I changed to bigger tires,

I got a good deal on the 26x8.5x15s from the guys at RJVOLKSPERFORMANCE  Grin

Now i started the tedious job of welding tabs in all the window surrounds to fit flush mount windows.

Progress is slow cause I didn't think welding in a few(120) tabs would take so much time Grin
Made a mould out of an old piece of lexan to see how it will look once it's ready
.

Now that the tabs in the body are  in I started on the doors.


The welding is getting better again. It really makes a difference when you don't do it on a daily basis.


Drivers side door is done. Now waiting for a new batch of tabs Wink

Had some time to work on the car today,
Welded and cleaned the floor and put some primer on.

And a coat of flat black


Now it's time to start placing some parts in the car. Will change the entire set-up to EFI. With a water to air intercooler.
A friend of mine is lasercuting the water tank as it will be a custom made one. As soon as that is ready and I have some other parts I can see where to route all the lines as there is a lot more plumbing then before. Wink

Question: will a front tire fit between the front tubes in any angle? If so you can be sure it will if you crash at high speed and your legs will be the first to notice.

I think what Kalle is refering to is shown here,it looks possible for the wheel/tyre to be pushed back into the footwell/pedal area,and yes I know its the correct side I drew on,not the LHS Grin

The crossbar should protect me from a wheel getting in. You guys made a good point even if you drew it on the wrong side of the car Wink

Not much done lately as life gets in the way but I got my front beam back from the blaster and gave it a coat of black paint.
Front is now well on it's way to look like it is supposed to do.

It's been a while but I'm still working on the car. Searching for parts consumes a lot of time and changing my mind every day doesn't help either Wink
But I decided to ditch the renault gearbox and put a 091 in. Got a lead on a really good one Grin Grin.
I'm also going efi so I bought an IC and have to make a new intake and exhaust so why not make everything a little bigger and get a bigger turbo.

Sold all the draw through stuff so there is no turning back now Grin

Had Jim(cotsweld race cars ) modify the car to fit a 091 gearbox with an mse shifter.


He also repositioned the turbo cause I wasn't happy with where it sat.

I'll make some pictures of the details of Jim's work as it is really like artwork. Grin
I had to cut up the IC cause the routing would be terrible.



And put on a throttle body

I started working on the car again and it takes a lot of time and efford from me but it slowly comes together now. Only 2 big things that I need now and that's a gearbox and the EFI.
Efi will be kms (kronenburg management) Decided to use this system as a friend of mine makes the software Wink

Took some time to take some pictures from the modifications Jim made.

Some people pointed to me that the front didn't have enough tubes so I had Jim add some more.

I think it is safe now.
Fitted a vertigate shifter,

Down pipe almost ready,


Box fitted with plates.
