I'm running a standard Diff and always have been and I had the same issues.  I always have a spotter on track letting me know if both are spinning.  if not, then dumping the clutch a 2nd time can get it going.    I always make sure my wheels are in the water and get your crew to ask the track crew to spray a little more down on the wheel that is harder to spin up.
With my SA box, I could almost always get the right wheel to spin but the left was hit and miss.   Since going IRS, it appears to be the other way.  Left seems to favour spinning more than right.
I think really the solution is an LSD... Which is firmly on my wish list.
