VERY COOL frame! Never seen like that. I'm guessing that fits only the earlier (pre-'56) California plates? If not, it sure looks like it does, due to the extremely rounded corners. Either way... super unique.

Two of mine that were on my grandpas cars long ago. Blank one could be from anywhere and I think McAlister was electrical parts.

I recently got this one, which although it isnt VW, is from a dealer near Ventura in california. It turns out it is a chevy dealer, which is still going. This is obviously another pre 55 cal frame.

Out of curiousity, I am not sure if Sarge will see this, but you mentioned about working in anaheim in the old days, and getting Joe Schneider to do work, do you know what the score is with Volkswagen West in Anaheim? I assume they were around in the mid to late 70s?

Maybe this was on Frenchy's Ghia,...many many years ago. I saw it on eBay.  I think this is the dealer he had his car displayed.

VERY cool frame. Older than my Cotton-Goff one (four bolt pattern and Porsche crest).

I've got the same frame, and funnily enough mine is broken too! Used it on my race car with a 1975 Cali plate.

EDIT Just had another look at the ebay auction and spotted the seller - fairly sure it's RK Smith, who I bought my Feb '75 Hot VWs from.

Cool, Martin. I've never seen a Cotton Goff frame with the Buena Park on top. Mine say Orange County. Either way, nice collection.

Not seen a New York one before and no idea who Bob Bozanni is!
