Imagine you could go back in time. Pick two hot rodded street cars (now gone, or still existing) and drop them in the staging lanes. Which two would you want to see go for it?

I'm thinking Wade's black '67 vs. Pete's Dragon

or

Schwimmer's oval vs. Rhoads' green sedan.

I've seen all of those run (but obviously not together)! Good call!  Cool

I can think of another pairing too but I'll wait 'till I got the photograph...  Smiley

The cool thing is, you used to be able to see all these cars run at the races. Sarge was telling me they pretty much used to live at the strip. Now days it seems people are too worried about blowing up their $8,000 engines, $5,000 trannys or scratching their $15,000 paint jobs. Sorry, I will get off the soap box.

I would love to see Dave Rhodes green car run against Bill S.'s Coral car. Two established cars that represent the best in Cal-look.

I think I saw that....  no wait it was Mason's car, against Rhoads'..... Phoenix show 1990, fall. Spun my head really hard, whole drive back to San Fran was pretty much a daze after seeing those cars in action.

Mike Martinez's black chop-top vs. the original Berglar (not the decomposing rolling chassis of late).

Probably a stupid question, but when was the last time that Schwimmer and Rayburn raced against each other? That would be a good one.

I think I've seen that, in the UK bizarrely enough! Beetle Bash 1996, Avon Park, both of those, and the Goss chop top blew me away. Wink

Agreed.  Anywhere, anytime.  John Lazenby told me recently that you could stand behind Mahaffey's split when it launched and watch the quarter panels flex..........

Ritchie, you put the top back on the car & running with it? Afraid of the rain, sky looks a little dark... Or maybe it's for the sun Wink
