I think the wheel gap makes it an optical illusion.  I took care of that now though.   Smiley

A question that is maybe stupid  Cheesy : what's the difference beetween for example a 165/80/15 tyre and a 165/15 (or 165R15) tyre ? Is it the same or not mentioning the profile makes a difference with the wheel diameter ?

When the height isn't mentioned on a tire it's 80. So 165r15 and 165/80r15 are the same

Thats not totally true. A 165/80 is taller than a 165r15.

165r15 = 165/82-15. Though most people (and tire shops!) treat 80 as full profile.

Too add to the confusion... (some?) older tires that did not state the aspect ratio were 78 series. I still haven't got to the bottom of this but I know my 165 XZX's were shorter than the standard 165/15's they sell nowadays.

Thank you for all the kind words on the car guys :-) I'm very pleased myself, even though there still is a bit too many chromed parts on it :-D
The tires are very good on the street, but I don't think they will be to good on wet surface.
A few more days now and I will hopefully be driving it around :-)

Tom, I'm diggin' on your '66... but also for another reason; the car looks like it could be from any era. Timeless, classic, and tastefully done. Great tire combo, too. Eventually, I'll end up with 145s. Had those on my '66 and loved 'em. WAY safer and better looking.
