I received a cheque from the insurance company for writing-off my Ghia
But the good news is that the money's gonna be spent on making her faster, stronger, better...

Been away from the office for the past five days, when I got back, here is what I found....
I had my new Empi print framed and matted.
I have been looking for this VW tool for twenty years.. Can you tell me what is does?
I found a new stash of early VW gasser photos from the early '70s, never been seen before.

That tool reminds me of a crank pulley puller, but I can't honestly say I've seen one that looks like that before if in fact that's what it is.

Hint, Gary/Gene Berg were the last persons I knew had one.... I showed a photo of this tool being used when I did Gary's street engine, waaaay back when.

We have a winner. Once you bolt the disc and pressure plate to the flywheel, you check the installation height of the T/O bearing collar (early style), to make sure it is at the correct height. The tool legs have magnets on them so they will stick to the flywheel.

I received the French magazine Volksworld, it had a brilliant article on my good clubmate Øystein Splitman's "Wiger coupe" , and next tho the editorial there was a little news on Tor Øyvind Skinne's 9.60 pass... true, it was done on a Swedish track... but he is still a Norwegian...

Yes, Inch Pincher I, first DDS car, Stutt Bee (before chop), first Lightning Bug, and super rare shots of the Iguana, all taken at Fremont. No date set on these yet, but the Schley Brothers will see them today and figure out when they were taken. I would imagine that this event was a NHRA points meet for all them to be there, and race against a street roadster in Modified Eliminator. Most were running H/Gas....

Some pieces i picked up at a swap meet two weeks ago. A center pull with an aluminum top piece, a dds style pulley (need to get a degree ring from jan), an oil fill for the drag motor and a SR15N Bosch. all for about $60 us. Oh yea, the valve cover vent tubes, i'll probably not use, but they were $3. Who can refuse that?

If I do decide to sell, you’re first on the list. I’ll probably never use it, I’m a cross bar fan myself. Even though I have a couple of CB style cross bars, I’m going to try to find a Tayco style round bar set up for the gasser I’m currently building. That’s why I picked up the dds style pulley, a little bit of the old and new.

Ted, I was admiring your license frame at Drag Day... I've had ones from that dealer, but have never seen one with the Bug. VERY cool and nice find. I saw that he had another one for sale... but I can't afford that. I'm still looking for a Lakewood Motors one in decent condition for my '67. I have one that's mint, but I painted the background the same color as my orange '66, so I don't want to change it.
