Diederick, the red 67 is Carlos De Albas car and was owend before by Scott Bakken. The wheels are original magnesium American Racing rims and I guess they have Porsche bolt pattern.

Thanks George! I didn't know they were porsche patterns... nice! But they aren't 8" wide right?
I couldn't think of the name i usually use; American Torque Thrust D-spokes, correct?

That is the name. It is the same one's that Dave C. runs, or ran, on his euro spec '67. From my understanding they made them both in magnesium and aluminum. I think they were originally 7 inches wide.

I guess it's all a matter of taste but I was not wild about the bumper treatment. If you're gonna run the EMPI Bumper guards, either paint them black of leave the bumper chrome.

One little nit to pick on an otherwise outstanding car.

The blue car is Tiger's from A-1. I just love the stance and the rubber treatment.

Ditto Uncle Jim.  There were a lot of great cars (including that purple convertible - crazy!), interesting goodies in the swap meet (zenith's and holley's and weber's oh my Sheep!) and lots of great friends. Heard about a lot of new cars in the works and some old ones that are finally getting worked on (YEAH!).  Exciting news.  The Rolling Blackout was incredibly built and detailed and my own personal VW spirit award goes to Lanny, whose transporter took a digger for the second year in a row, this time forcing him to drive that beautiful '67 to the meet, only to have a swivel feet adjuster break on the way.  Russ Welch and I were driving my crew cab and passed by on the freeway, and the only reason we didn't stop was because we could not imagine that it could be Lanny's car on the side of the road!  I felt horrible when I saw him drive it in later and pull the two piece adjuster out of his pocket.  What a week for him!  What a car!  You could look at it for hours.

Other points of interest.  Did anyone see the faux 1970 Blue Empi Bug for sale?  Interesting batch of parts put together, even if it wasn't the real Mahashka.  How about that Matador?  WOW.  You don't see that everyday, and not in that condition.

What a great time.  Keeps the fires burning for those of us who don't have a lot of time to devote to the hobby........

The Jade Grenade was between Pat Friel's split and "El Diablo Gris".
