Well done mate.
That's a big jump up from last weekend, when you thought you would have had a 9.10 or so had the head studs not failed.
Did you get the same type again or back to the old proven ones?
So I guess simplifying the setup and getting rid of all the excess weight really made a difference to the car.

What did the run feel like?
Looking at all the numbers, every single one is a best for the car so this must have been a case of all the right things coming together during the run.
Or was there any room for improvement?

Thanks everyone, if you keep working away at it then it comes good finally Wink

1st pass I aborted, it did what Kalle wanted  Grin, big wheelie Cheesy and I missed 2nd gear so just cruised up, made some adjustments and tried again and it all worked Cool Grin  Due to the mph being over 150 and not having a parachute we were done for the day, they wouldn't let me run again but I was so happy it didn't matter Wink.

Simon, Videos uploading now, will post shortly  Smiley.

Frank, it was a pass that was coming for a while, there are still some flaws in gearing, 1st and 2nd is too short so big gap to 3rd, also it has been nearly 125mph at 1/8th[124.95mph] so is some left, the most amazing thing is it picked up 38mph from 1/8th to 1/4, the new car best it has ever gained is 32mph Shocked

I put the good Scat head studs in this week and some rob bearings and rod bolts for added security

I think there is a little more in 60ft as it was maybe slightly to soft but its a very fine line without sissy sticks and some more power still if these studs will take it so who knows, I think 8.8x is realistic but will need to look at some weight removal to make up for the chute/mount etc etc I need to add now

cheers Richie

Thanks for sharing Richie! Proper old school Mr Webb kind of driving  Smiley

And congrats on the new ET. Very cool indeed. It is, for me at least, very inspirational since I will never ever go down that pure race car - pro mod route. I have always thought it is more interesting to find the limits for a street car and you are now pushing limits. I like that - a lot! SO then Richie, where is the limit you think? How low can you push the 60ft before it lifts or spin? How cool can you get the engine to run? Where is the limit for "ordinary" fuel and power output. These are all topics I would love to discuss over a cup of tea when the kids are star gasing in the hot tub.

Your welcome Grin

Looking at what Jens Petter & Tor Skinne have done with there IRS platform then a lot more , but with what I see this car as and how it will stay then maybe another 1/10th or so. The corrected air was horrible at 3400feet, so I did the math using NHRA's official correction factors last night just out of curiousity and it comes up with a number that is way beyond what I expected  Shocked.
Better gearing would help and a taller 1st might yield another 1/100 or so in 60ft but more power mid track is what I really need, this engine/turbo is just about topped out now at this level, the new 2332 that is coming[ got most of it, cylinders need work still and will need head studs and pushrods, but waiting on the rocker set up to be finished 1st so maybe next winter] will hopefully allow another 1000rpm and that will change gearing need so going to leave it alone for now, its always going to be a compromise somewhere with a car like this that see's street miles as well
Gearbox is another limit, its just typical H pattern shifted full syncro bus box with type 1 gearset so don't know how much more that will take.

I have some simple stuff to do that should remove about 50-60lbs weight from it without cutting anymore out, that should help everything live by not having to work so hard to move it! I just realised, its never ending Shocked we are going to need lots of tea to figure it all out Cheesy

cheers Richie

Unlikely, not even thought about it and it was lots of work to get the other one done at a sensible price so we didn't loose money on them

Hi Dave
