Hi

I think you don't need 3 mm clearance from cam lobe to lifter . Are you shure the lobe did not hit the rod ? Or you had not enough spring pressure and the valves float ?
I never saw a broken Type 4 cam from US , only german Schleicher .

I have seen the car IRL from the day John decided to start the angle grinder and chop it up and build it to his own specs and until about now. All I can say is............... well........... I´m actually speechless  Shocked
