Hey Shubee, if you put the red seal against the washer there is no way to know what torque you are applying to the 12mm studs. I use Loctite 574 under the 12mm washer, and to ensure proper torque, use moly lube on threads and on underside of nut. Gene Berg even said this "was the way to do it". The red seal stuff often comes apart on the threads when you unscrew them. Most nylocks are crap quality and I would never apply 30ft lb to them.

Hi Jim, what sealant did you use under the cylinders. I use Dirko HT from Elring. (Red Stuff).

Just checked the boxes, Dirko and Curil are from the same company Elring. Curil T is a bitch to remove from case-halves,
but it makes a "dry" engine. Lately i'm using the Permatex aviation stuff for cases. Perfect results and easy to remove.

yeah Curil K2 is Elring too.... good stuff. Permatex 3H always worked too, but I can but the Elring stuff at work, no need to drive around looking for 3h.  Grin

Raceware. I bought kit (studs, washers, nuts) from Roger Crawford @ Heads Up.

Yeah it went in Thursday night, came to life Saturday afternoon.... no drips, no grey muck, no burps, hiccups. Drove it yesterday morning around the neighborhood and a short blast on freeway, and to work today. So far so good.

Hi Mike, yeah, in place of the Engle FK45 I have a Pauter R6E8 in it, a smidge more CR, and larger intake ports/runners. The R6E8 is 272 deg @ .050 and with Scat 1.25 it gives as much as .528" at valve.

it runs the same down low, really... grunty, maybe not 100% as crisp off idle, but after 4000 it's definitely got a temper. I've been nice to it though....has about 40 mi on it.

BTW Engine Stand, i raised mine welding  4mm  X 300 mm steel plates. Saves Back in the Future.
