I think Dyno Pincher was one?

Flat 4 have produced a cast for the BRM which is a pretty much exact cast of the original BRM of which the first ever produced was shipped from Tokyo for the VW show but never managed to get a picture of it!

This is the one car that caught my attention... any more pics of it? If not, what kind of wheels were on it? From what I can see in this pic, it looks GREAT.

Also... hate to ask a silly question, but judging from that BRM wheel pic, there's not much (if any) detectable differences from the old Flat Four BRM casting. What makes those new ones different? Do they have the casted in letters near the valve stem, like the earlier ones? Or are the dimensions is what sets them apart?

Hi Fred, to me it looks like the smooth spokes have been changed to the rough finnish of the genuine BRM. Maybe even the 5 casting circles are there too.

thanks for the pics Dez.

I "think" I heard the BRM re-design included changing the lugs to use inserts like the original wheels had.  Also, when comparing a Flat4 to an original, the depth of the shinny part of the rim is a little deeper on an original, so maybe that got addressed, too.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Regarding the wheels... the only missing elements, like Sarge posted, would be magnesium and charging $10,000 per set. Otherwise, owners of the originals will be a trifle miffed.

Saw them in real life yesterday, only thing that seems strange about them is they have the same letters cast in as all the repro wheels you see.
Like on the repro fuchs wheels etc...

They should have polised edges instead of the usual plain aluminum finish. And hopefully they haven`t raised the price.

I was quite surprised to learn that in the price department all is pretty OK. I don't know what the old flat4 are going for these days, but the new ones are very reasonably priced at 250 Euro per Beast. That is the price the Old F4 used to be a few years ago as well.

that is correct 249,00 euro each
Nao went far to have this part made
he is really proud of the outcome
I am shipping out an order once they arrive early April
just let me know on gh@csp-shop.de if you like to reserve some for the new season
since the wheel business has been enlarged again and more repops are coming ... the Flat4 BRM makes the difference because of the quality and design I would say
so support our buddy Nao and his new baby
oh and by the way the next secret is that I know what car Mr Komori is shipping for the European BugIn 3 ... wow
