Cool pics. Looks like it was a good event barring the oil downs, still more time for the barbeque I guess.

As promised, a few more images from Bug-In 34.

Tod's car.

Worm's engine.

Lisa & Worm.

Brian's car.

Jim's Ghia.

And one for Monkiboy.

If you're ever in Downey... buy your VW parts at Bill & Steve's. Super cool people that have been selling VW parts since the '80s.

One of the outtake group shots.

Junior's car.

Again.

More DEEKS... (left to right) Worm, Steve Wilkerson, Dan Mazur, Tod Fuller, & Manny. We had a blast looking at Worm's old club picture collection.

Good seeing club decals on Tim's nicely done car.

Mark's car.

Susy on the ¼ mile.

Randy's car.

Randy's engine.

Manny's car. Note the original stickers... yes, this car is a club survivor. Manny had it back then and it was gray.

Roy's car.

Worm's 'vert.

Doug & Keith.

Worm, that is a super clean 'vert.... nice and simple. How long have you had it? What color is it? nice ride...

SlingShot, thanks for posting up pics of the car show area. For obvious reasons, it's the first Bug-In where I've not walked the car show. I dig that dark maroon Split... it shows up to Nick's. Such a nice car.

Ah, yes... Julio's original factory paint 'Vert. Great car! One of the few factory metallic colored cars still in the U.S. Schwimmer and I got to take it out for a drive, one winter's night, at Nick's. What a wonderful time machine it is! Hope that he never sells it. He told Bill and I the neat story how he acquired it.

Yes it is a very cool car. I'm glad to see it out again, after some ass clowns stole all the HTF parts off it a couple years ago.

great pic.... NICE launch. How was the pass?

Jim, thanks for the kudos dude.  I have had the car 3 to 4 months and worked on it full speed the entire time at least 100 hours a week at minimum.  It was a rolling shit bag when I got it.  Same paint same interior, new top, but its abut 40 lbs lighter from all the gunk I scraped off it and I have added a few items to it.  Front beam, motor, parts, parts, more parts and.....Oh, everything else.  ha.  The color is a Ford metallic blue.  Kinda wierd.  Paint needs some work still.  I'd post some pics of the before and after sometime just for fun.  Im packing my bags right now and leaving for Aruba in the a.m.  Maybe when I get back.  Although my story is not much different than most of you into this VW thang....... Wink

Thanks again, its fun.

I do believe I wet myself a little!

What a bummer to not be able to make it this time, it is my goal to be there for the next one. It's funny to see those of us who have aged a bit over the years(I still think of us as kids), then there is the few that have not(you bastig's know who you are!). I recognize most in the group photo, but not all; how about some help?
Gawd, just thinking about those club days, brings back a lot of great memories! Those were great times, way before growing up & having a lot more responsibilities! I sometimes forget how much I miss those days & how much I miss you guys!
Thanks for the photos, most excellent! If any of you plan on going to Bug-O-Rama in Sacramento, let me know. I will find a way to get there (about 90 miles from where I am).

Thanks, Guys!.....I thought this thread needed a little action. I still need a lot of work on the launch, but my 60 ft. times are getting better. My best is a 1.7 (not too good). 13.1 @103 on a .447 tree HA!........
