Hi Fabs I noticed the Box On your Pistons says 40 HP Only?? NPR/Deano did make 92's for a 40 Hp I think the Difference is the Wrist Pin Size or the Placement of the wrist pin hole in the Piston if so they wont fit a 1600 up Rod Anyone Else know for sure?

Hi Fabs. it looks like your short manifolds are causing the carbs to touch the fanshroud. if you keep your carbs the way they are facing then i think it will be a real pain to set the mixture screws at the back. but it looks from the photos that if you reverse the carbs then the float bowl and fuel banjo will get in the way....the 30 hp shroud does give you a lot more room....

i will go with a 30hp fan shroud , and for reversing the carbs it's iimpossible with those manifold same as the dds , the mixture screw are inside with those , and i've watching several pictures with those manifold , and all are the same

no off the shelf parts
same issue here fabs, had a look this morning and a 30hp shroud gives some nice clearance.

those NPR 92's leak down out of the box new. Nice to look @ but I wouldn't run them.
I'd suggest a 94 x 78 fabs, simple to build, fast, nobdy can "see" what size the motor is. use an OEM stale air 40HP fan housing, like Jim Edmiston's.

Why is that? Can it be corrected with a good hone/cross hatch? Or different rings? I've got a set of NOS Biral NPR 92's that I'm planning to use... someday

sorry, bro, but they'd be better for a short lived drag motor, but not for a streeter you need long term power from. The cylinders do not stay round. MAYBE in a real mild, low-state-of-tune (read: low CR, generous overlap, low lift) motor they might live a bit.

The ISS 92's were even worse, as I recall. If you wanted reliable
p&c then, you used 88's, the variety depended on your budget. 89's were reserved for the go fast guys and when 90's came out you went looking for a sponsor.

try the pin in a 1600 rod!! I also Agree with Jim they are better Left On the Shelf, I would use a Cima or Mahle's and build something fast that will last why build something that know will puke oil to start with add them to your collection and use the good stuff you will be glad you did.

cylinder wall to ring seal is one of the most important facotrs in a good motor, Fabs. Just trying to be helpful, like the blue Honda commercial guy.

Check your venturis as well, you'll see a number when you look down the throat of the intake - with your spec you should be running 37mm, anything bigger will run like a bugger
