 one day i will build a bigger engine for the 61 or another project who know  Roll Eyes..... Cheesy Cheesy not a 2332cc  , but more an 1776cc ,1835cc or 2007cc with my 48ida (i've since 99 now)
here's a vw case i've  now for 15 years old , this one was in my daily driver at the beginning  ,it's a 1200cc but the case is an AS41 , can i made a bigger dispalcement with this one Huh

Looks like a good start to me, but I don't know if there were any differences from a 1200-1600 AS41 other than the displacement. It's dual pressure relief and it's got the insert for upper engine trans bolt by #3, so those are good signs in my book. Good luck with the build!! Smiley

hi fabs,

a 2007cc engine is a great daily driver with a lot of fun.

hot VWs 2/95 and 4/95 they build one 160Hp without fanbelt and with stinger at 6000rpm and 145Hp with fanbelt and duals!!!

why not start with a new case, you never know how long a old case will stay!!!

And with the money you save on a stroker crank and rods, buy a good set of heads.

1915cc, FK8 + 1.4 rockers,DPR crank, HD stock rods,  reworked 043 heads 40*35.5mm, ~9.0 CR; 1.5/8 header etc etc...

my 1914 has a used case, it doesn't see 8000rpm so no real probs, the most its seen is 6k.  Just make sure its checked.

i happen to have a 78 crank, lightened flywheel, berg pulley and crown pressureplate...

so why not make a 78x88 or 78x90.5 together with a w130 and some 40x35 heads?

You will want to use an Magneto and an Oberg 600 Oil Filter for the correct Period Looks... Wink Grin Grin

with that kind of fan shroud , the 48 touch the fanhousing is normal Huh , i will use the 30 hp fan housing , and as it's describe in another tread to modify this one , and also the sheet steels cylinder , will be modify too, where the manifold goes on the heads

may be you can give me some advice for other parts to be modify for the future build Huh

Hi Fabs. it looks like your short manifolds are causing the carbs to touch the fanshroud. if you keep your carbs the way they are facing then i think it will be a real pain to set the mixture screws at the back.  but it looks from the photos that if you reverse the carbs then the float bowl and fuel banjo will get in the way....the 30 hp shroud does give you a lot more room....

You know...I carefully checked the pictures again and it will definitely looks better with a NOS Race Trim linkage to go with your manifolds...
