Here is a picture (sorry for the bad quality) of the parts to pimp the inside :

  • 912 steering wheel for the "not so deluxe" sport touch
  • Shiftstar gearstick also "not so deluxe"
  • VDO pressure gauge
  • VDO temp gauge
  • VDO 8000RPM tachometer

Next time : Welding works on the shell

Love the gauges you are using,in the same(chromed ring)style as the speedometer.(Looks like a factory option.)

That's exactly the effect I wanted to make, to look like a factory build sporty dashboard.

Thanks a lot, but you have to know the truth... All that work hasn't been done these last weeks, here is the timing of the project :

  • Welding of the shell was done last year from september to december
  • Primer coat on the shell has been done in spring this year
  • Painting of the shell, in last aug.
  • Welding of the pan, anti-rust treatment and painting this summer
  • Rebuilding of the pan, this september
  • The shell met the pan this september too
  • Doors, wings, decklid and bonnet incomming from painting
  • Building of the powerplant and assembly of the shell this winter 2010
  • Hope to be ready for FreddyFiles 2010

As I didn't have space enough to rebuild the car in my little garage, a very kind farmer allowed me to use his stable during this summer when the cows were out all the days... Very very beautifull uncommon place to rebuild a nice little car !

Here are pictures of the mess before installing the parts and the corner of the farm I used...

I have to try a solution with a 914 steering hub, I'll tell you if it works... But with it, no horn.

I've fitted one in mine.... with horn:

The turn signal stalk is close, but not too close that it's a problem.
