Thanks Hans Grin

Started modifiyng the rear suspension today as I wasn't happy with the current set-up.

First I removed the lower shockmount on the  trailingarm.

Then I made a bracket for the topmount.

I bolted everything together again to see where the new lower mount will go.

nice to see you making progress Smiley  that top mount will need more bracing, ideally another tab on the other end of the bolt or it will flex and maybe shear off,but i am sure you knew that Wink Cheesy

Yeah this is just for mock up.I will make some additional bracing to the brackets to make sure nothing bends or breaks.

So I ditched the entire backside of the cage tonight as it didn't "look" right.I could have tried and make the new suspension set up work but it looked like crap.

Started with the new design,

More later,

@ MR horsepower,I haven't had the time to try it tonight because the shop looked more like a bar tonight.
I made some new bars instead and will weld them somewhere this week.

Had time to work on the car this morning.
Made one side of the rear end suspension today.

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out and I think it will hold.I am adding some bracing on the top mount though.

Hopefully I get the other side done this week then I can add some more bars to the cage to make it more rigid.

What size slick are you planning on running Michael ? as you may want to think about narrowing those A arms to get your rubber well in under the rear fenders while your setting up the rear coil over positions .
Great thread this , love to see what your up to , its looking good  Cool

Glenn.

For now I have a set of 6x26 MH slicks but maybe I have to go 8,5x26.
I am going to order some new rear wheels from Greg Weld with a 4"backspace.If my meassurements are correct this is going to fit.
I have someone making  a set of hubs like the porsche 944 but with chevy pcd and from 7075 aluminium.

Thanks for the comments guys it keeps me focused on finishing the car Wink

I cut off the fork because it has There was hardly any strength in it.

I will add more tubes when the motor is back in.

Now the car is a roller again.

Putting more tube in to get the cage stiffer.

Didn't do much on the car tonight as we had to make room for Pauls (fahrvergnugen)oval.

Managed to make a bar behind the seat.
