Thats why I also swapped my connecting rods for a refurbished set from Ahnendorp in germany.They are tested and 600 gram llighter then originals.

600 gram lighter, or are they 600 gram now?

If not, that is ALOT!

No it isn't  I think it will be strong enough ;)And this is just the run in engine.
I will use hthis engine for testing so I don't want to spend all my money on it.

Plus I think that an original crank(type4)is stronger/better then a whole lot of aftermarket stuff out there Wink

Started with the intake for the turbosystem.
I allready made an intake but reading on the web learned me that I could make a better system.
I really like the plenums Marty makes and tekken runs on his car but I cant afford that so that is why I want to make my own set.

The previous set was made by me but I had some one else do the welding cause I couldn't.
That's why i booked eveningschool to learn tigwelding. Wink

I've going to school for a few weeks now and I started getting the feeling and i bought my own welder(secondhand)

Got a package from Richie Webb last week with my straight cut camgear (thanks man).
Today I got a package from low bugget with type 4 exhaust flanges which are cnc made.


There is more on the way from summit to plumb the fuellines.

Finaly got the case cleaned.Had it painted with Vht some 15 years ago and couldn't get it of the case so I had it professionaly cleaned.


Also received the filter which is compatible with the fuel I am using Wink.The rest of the fittings and the fuellines is on its way.

Tig welding is going well i guess!? Are those pipes just pre bent pipes for any application? In other words, you're making the exhaust yourself?  Cheesy Keep up the good work!

Thanks Martin.
Been working on the fuelline.I t took a long time to figure out how I would route the line but I think I got it right.
The mainline goes through the passengerside heaterchannel connected by bulkheadcouplings.

I made the pick up on the tank bigger going from AN 8 to AN 10.
This because I think the engine wants lots of fuel and since I will be runnig E85 that means about 30% more then regular fuel.



I'll make more pictures when the weather is better (outside)

Continued with the fuelline and fitted the bulkhead connectors in front and at the end of the heaterchannel.



I also made ahook up for the battery.

Yes I am finaly working on the engine together with Henri(mrHorsepower).Although he is doing the most work Grin.
I took the tranny apart to put the spool in and found out that the diff that was inside allready acted like a spool because it was rocksolid and I couldn't turn it.
I cleaned the trannycase and put it in the washer to get rid of all the grease.

I want to paint the case so it won't get dirty again and it is easier to clean.

The engine case is cleaned for the last time and the crank has been polished so it can be closed next week.

So after a bad start today(overslept and 6 inches of snow) I got the gearbox back home.Only took a few hours to put everything back in the case and it turns like a dream.

I gave the case a coat of paint in order to keep it clean.


Some strange dude was hanging around giving me the needed advise Grin


Here is the adapterplate that I had made to bolt the renaultgearbox to the transporter bellhousing.


The box is allready back in the car but it's to dark to make pictures arround this hour.
