Tonight I had the time to mount my new fuelcell and to make a mount for the pump.

Looks very good,something I noticed recently is the cars being built have a small loop around the front of the fuel cell to protect it from a frontal collision,I believe this is in the aftermath of Pat Mcdermotts fiat crash,might be a good idea to add this?

Just got the turboflanges,


Now the work on the exhaust can begin.It will be looking like an oldschool typ1 exhaust but for a typ4.
It will be made by Richard thomas of www.turbothomas.com.

It is a bit of a struggle fitting it properly because the lack of strenghtness in the front but it is getting there.

Well I am back and was it a great time in the states.sure met a lot of nice people.

I had the chance to take a set of frontrunners and a wast gate in my luggage so the "to have list" is getting a bit shorter allthough it is getting longer due to all the great stuff I saw in the Us.



Put the hairdryer and the wastegate together so they could get to know each other Grin

Made some braces to stiffen the front as it was moving all over.They are made of treaded steel but I am making them of aluminium eventually.


Mocked up the wheelybars to see how it would look like.I don,t know if I need them but I had the chance to buy them so I will see if they are nessesary( let's hope I have the power to lift the front Wink).



Now it is time to deal with all the little details and to start working on the engine.

had the time to pick up some parts I bought from Airspeed(owner of a fatchick with a typ4 turbo DTA intercooled dailydriver).
It's a scat billet 86 mm crank with chevy journals and a set of cb H beam racerods.



I think this is a nice start for the new engine that will be in the tiki.

Trying to graft in a scoop to mount a fuelpressure gauge so it will look a bit more like a gasser Grin

Thanks the logos are coming back but a little different and as for the rest of the car will stay as is for next year because I want to be able to make changes if nessecary.
When the car is dialed in it will receive its paint which will be involving candys metalflake and goldleafe Wink

Just sanded the scoop with 120 grit sandingpaper the rest of the detailing is for the painters Wink

Now I am going to make the rear fenders with quickrelease fasteners.

And I am planning to build a brand new engine.Again typ4 but with pauter heads.
It probably will be 86x103 which is close to 2.9 liters.
The plan is to have the case machined for 6 studs per cilinder and for typ 1 lifters.

The rest of the enginespecs will be determend when I have contact and advise from the enginebuilder as I need some one to do the machining and to help me put it all together.

Should be quick with the old engine, it looks like it will finish off being light.
