Pushed the car outside again to dust it off and to take some pictures next to Pauls oval. It s obvious that the car should drop a little more Michael

I was thinking about that also, surely with glass wings you could just chamfur the edges of the hold to give the same effect??? Looking good Michael, Your work is great. Is the garage your business? Rob.

Michael are you running a type 4 powerplant?
Yes Why? Michael Interested thats all! Have you more details on what you plan with the engine? Case, bore size, cc etc? I will be running my old 2.4 engine nex year with a turbo. And I am planning to build a brand new engine.Again typ4 but with pauter heads. It probably will be 86x103 which is close to 2.9 liters. The plan is to have the case machined for 6 studs per cilinder and for typ 1 lifters. The rest of the enginespecs will be determend when I have contact and advise from the enginebuilder as I need some one to do the machining and to help me put it all together. Michael Hi Mike, I'm doing a T4 as well (80 X 103), my heads are already done by Ron Fleming and prepared for 5 studs. I have a new T4 case that needs to be prepped as well. Who is you (fav) machine guy ? Thanks, Harry

I am planning to have Udo Becker do all the machining.I used to go to Bas Motorsport but I don't think they do the 6 stud modification. Also I only here good stories about Udo even when I was at Pauter this summer.

Not much progress lately. The only thing I did was change the cable that operates the gearbox selector. And I bought a pair of headlightcovers from a 993 porsche.I am going to make them fit the headlight ring as a replacement of the oriinal headlight assembly michael

Michael what gearbox you running, cable select? Rob. I am running a renault 25 UN1 gearbox. This was the only gearbox that was affordable at the time I build the brown Tiki last year.Robert Jongen used to run one and it was able to hold around 400bhp without breaking.

Wow thats interesting, this is a 5 speed box right? So did you have to get an adapter plate or a new bell housing made to mate up to the engine bolt pattern? How easy was it to adapt the cable shifter? And does the gearbox rotate and drive the right way from standard or did anything have to be done like flipping the diff? Regards, Rob.

Hi yes it's a 5 speed box but I am not using 5th. The diff has to be flipped wich is fairly straight forward if you know how to set preload and how to shim the diff. I removed the original bellhousing of the renault gearbox then fitted an adapterplate so I could use the bellhousing of a typ25 bus.My 2.4 bolts up to this belhousing and I can use the normal beetle clutchcable set up. Also if I have to go to heavier pressureplates I can easily change the clutch to a hydraulic set up. As a shifter I am using the shifter of a 90s To#¤ta because it has an arm that moves forward when you move the stick to the left. This way when I move the shifter to the left I pull a cable which controls the gearselector for the 1st and 2nd gear. Í will make some pictures this week to make things more asy to understand. michael

Sanded the welded spots today, For Prowagen: This is the shifter I am using, The lever going in the tunnel is for operating the gearselector. Here is the nose from te gearbox, The cable is not yet connected cause I am searching for a good cable to use.It will probable be a throttlecable from an outboard engine. Hope this explaines it a little, michael
