Buggy bumpers look best with the the holes in the front apron and rear fenders closed up. I think your car looks tits with the black t-bars Smiley

I think it will not be "period correct". Buggy bars are more early 80's mods. Leave it like this, it's awesome  Wink

We're going to fit the 145r15 and 205/70r15 tires to my Fat Lip Formula Vee wheels tomorrow, and fit the wheels to my bug the day after...
So saturday my bug will finally be a true looker. Too bad it'll still look like $h!# because it needs a full paintjob... Sad
Here ya go:

Sorry for the very bad quality picture, but Jordy will defenetly make a better pic by daylight Wink
It looks awesome dude.
Mayby you have to sandblast the other wheels, your wheel at the back looks good. The polished part we masking with ducktape.

Thanks for posting the picture! The stance is great indeed! We got it right at the first try... Cool
I still have to remove the stone guards, mud flaps, and there are a lot of other things to be done, but it finally has the nose-down look...

Thanks to everyone who helped me with it today... Wink

Nope they were already in use in the mid 70s. I never did understand why people like them though. Just my opinion.

My uncle bought this '69 as his first car. he was the first owner. now my mother owns it. it's standing dry and warm and hasn't been moved for at least 20 years. My uncle sold it to my mother in the 70ies. I can still remember, when she drove me around, while I was a kid and jumping around in the rear trunk. :-)
Finally I've got my mother's permission to take care of the bug and get it registered again. She doesn't know anything of my "late looker" plans, tho. :-) I haven't found a good way to tell her. Maybe this helps:

"Really mum, the front beam is rusty and needs to be replaced. They're not availavble in the original height anymore. You NEED to lower it. And the wheels are unsafe nowadays. I can get some Fuchs wheels. Porsche wheels, you know. They're safe. You don't want your son to have an accident because of your old wheels, don't you?" :-)

not getting angry... but disapointed.
any explanations would be nice... cuz with few signs typed in post you couldnt say what you wont to say am I right?
You know most of people  (maybe not you) is just paying lots of money for their engine, pain bodywork... and than they say ... its my cal-look... bushit... (I'm in that buizness so I  know what I'm talking... 80% of people who owe cal-look cars is like that).
and when someone is building everything by himselwe... and than someone just not eaven say only type signs... it is a litle bit sad and disapointing especially if its done by people that someone was thinking as the saim as him... so...

no man... but if you doing that what you said is a POS... and when youre trying to build ALL BY YOURESELVE a car... useing a bug which is the cheepest version of bugs made in 67-73 is that a no no?
- my car is surpizing Z cars .. yes he is in Poland
- did I make a car as cheep as its possible... yes I did...
- is it a daylie driver... yes it is...
- does it have t-bars... yes it has
- does it have two carbs.. (maybe not IDA but...) yes it has
- have I done all by my selve.. yes I did...
- ha it any unnesesery stuff... no he doesnt have (less is more as I remember)
mayby it doesn't have full windows (and he wont have cuz I don't like them)
and he wont have big motor cuz its too expencive (I could build it with no problem... cuz I've build few)

and tell me dude are the rules so strict taht you have to have pre 65 car??? as I remember people were useing 67 models very often especially us versions... am I right...

I just would like to hear what could I co to make it properly... and youre opinins wont help me...
