those are the correct fenders for the car Wink

Oh really? None of the '67s I ever owned came with door-mounted mirrors, trigger door handles, and short hoods with push-button handles. This is in the late-model thread after all.  Wink

it isn't a 67 it's a european 1200 standard model built from 68 to 72 (I thought)  Wink

I think the '68-71 1200's are the coolest late models, I may be biased though.
Although on the orange car, being a Sparkafer, there should be no trim or badge on the bonnet.

Shows to go you that you learn new stuff every day. I've done these cars for 25 years but never knew that. But then again I only know US cars.

Seems odd that Volkswagen would retain the grilles when at first the grilles were deluxe items. Having to make a part with an extra process had to cut into the profit.

It just dawned on me: my friends made a lot of Sparkafers because they were ashamed of their late models. Bumpers and fenders were the easy swaps--most of 'em never did anything with the bumper slots in the front aprons. I guess we were cutting edge and didn't know it!

That's crazy...and cool. I'll never forget the first time I saw an Brazilian '81 (in the '80s). It had small windows but intake vents in the rear quarters.

Spokes are sand-blasted, center and outer lip are polished. Maybe one day I'll have the spokes painted, I'd like a slightly darker grey on it, but for now I like the rough-metal look.

Dokke, your car is real nice. It reminds me of sarge's blue 69. Just a simple, cool, daily driver with some style.

Do you have any interior and engine shots you want to share?

Lookin' good  Cool

Tires are Vredestein Sprint Classic, front 155R15 and rear 185R15. Wheels are 5", front beam is stock width with stock disc-brake kit and rear have a custom disc brake, so supposed to have no offset.

I have spacers : front 5 mm and rear 17 mm (front for caliper cleareance and rear for the look).

Tidy car and interesting that he ended up with a California license plate from the mid seventies.

Funny, Keith... I've always thought the same about those, too. But that's the way they're supposed to be. Straight bumpers with nothing on those late cars looks the best, to me. But to each their own.
